FOOD & BEVERAGE DEMONSTRATION PROJECT

 

Instead of making drink bottles out of unsustainable or energy intensive materials like plastic, stainless steel, or aluminium, BestPracticePlastics make them out of bioplastic for Cfree. UNOIL materials were used for body and nib of the bottle, meeting HD/LD-PE and TPE material requirements. The hydrophobic materials are bioinert, making it ideal choice for water bottles, meeting FDA and EU food safety certification. Multifunctional bottle can be used for almost any contents without tainting or discolouration. Squeezable for quick hydration, these bottles are standard sizes, and fit most bike and car bottle holders. It is estimated, that by reusing 10,000 bottles over 1 year period, we can reduce “throw-away” bottle waste by up to 200,000 per year. We think its pretty cool. BUILT ENVIRONMENT DEMONSTRATION PROJECT

 

In collaboration with Palamont and Keith Melbourne, U made these avant-garde designer stools from bioplastic rather than LDPE, using rotational moulding techniques and U Blend materials. The Client is enthusiastic about the stools, and doubly enthusiastic about getting a sustainable product as well for Green Star fitout. 
The stools are likely to contribute to a number of Green star point categories including Volatile Organic Compounds: Tenancy Fitout Items, Mat-3: Recycled Content and Re-used Products and Materials. The NABERS (IEQ) Indoor Environment Quality is also expected to benefit. The Global Industry Analysts research firm estimates that the market for furniture and fixtures is expected to hit US$436.5 billion by 2015, while green building materials could have sales of US$405 billion by then.
